The Local Studies Department is the primary resource for local history research in County Tipperary for historians and enthusiasts. It has a dedicated reading room with modern research facilities.

Our Collections

Tipperary’s Studies vast and ever growing collection on the county’s history and heritage includes books, journals, local newspapers, maps, images including photos and postcards, archives and ephemera. There is a large focus on making much of the unique Tipperary material available in digital format. As items are digitised they will be made available online. To that end you are encouraged to keep visiting here to see what is new.
