An account of the resource
Black and white image of Brittas Castle ruin near Thurles from the hall door of the associated house. The castle was built around 1830 by Major Henry Langley but remained unfinished when Langley was killed by falling masonry on site in 1834. It was intended to be archaeologically correct and included a dungeon and a working moat.(information from www.buildingsofireland.ie). 15 February 1919
